It requires expertise and a mastery of the subject, as well as an increased manufacturing time. In order to colour the material, a base composition is added (silica, lead, potash from Alsace) when the metallic oxide or metals fuse: To achieve blue => Cobalt oxide. Green => Copper oxide. Yellow => titanium and cerium oxide. Pink and red => achieved using gold. Yellow orange => achieved using silver.
