ADDITIONNAL INFORMATIONS

LARGE SAND VASE CHRISTIAN GHION DAUM :

LARGE SAND VASE CHRISTIAN GHION DAUM, The Maison Daum launches the Sand Collection in collaboration with the renowned designer Christian Ghion. This extraordinary collection was born from the designer’s desire to explore the organic an often invisible worlds.

“Underwater ripples? Swallowing sand waves? Micro-cellular streams? Dancing twists of the plant kingdom? Natural sinuosities? These are some of the many questions that one will interpret. Without ever being figurative, these pieces are resolutely contemporary and inscribed in the DNA of Daum, and they offer a surprise for the world to see”.

♦ CHRISTIAN GHION :

Christian Ghion is a designer born in 1958, in Montmorency France. After receiving a degree in Law, he decided to enrol in the School of Architecture of Paris-Conflans, majoring in Furniture Creation Studies to exploit his multiple talents, followed by an enrolment in the ENSCI (Ecole Natoinale Superieure de Creation Industrielle).

At the age of 28, he founded his own creation studio with Patrick Nadeau, and created many great projects. In 1991, the duo was bestowed with the “Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris”

Their collaboration would last for a decade or so, before Ghion would decide to fly solo to pursue a different adventure.

Christian Ghion quickly makes a name for himself as a designer in the French and International Design scene. He has collaborated with many renowned brands, such as Cappellini, Driade, Salviati, Sawaya & Moroni, and of course Daum, on creating many projects. He has also worked on designs for perfume bottles for luxury houses like Lanvin, Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Guerlain, among others.

His works can be admired in the permanent collections of the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Centres Georges Pompidou, and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, to name a few.
